Tixan Name Builder
Tixan naming conventions: Tixans are permitted to choose their names very young; until the age of eight, they are all referred to as “Kit”, and upon turning eight years old, they are allowed to select their own names. For this reason, tixan names tend to be very short and easily pronounceable. Tixans are also intersex and tend most frequently to be agendered, so their names do not tend to have gendered conventions as do kudran and operan names.
1. Truncation: Take your given name (first name) and squeeze it until it’s just one to two syllables (one syllable preferred, two at the absolute most). Take some creative liberties with this - you can try to take your favorite sounds from your name, or just the first syllable, or you can try to make it something even a nine-year-old could pronounce. Add your truncated name in the field below.
2. Lilt: Tixan names tend to have an upward or downward lilt, often attributed when a tixan reaches adulthood. Check out the lilt table below and choose one that fits you based on the number of syllables in your truncated name.

Enter your lilt into the field below:
3. Delving name: Tixans do not have family names. Instead, they are given Delving Names according to what kind of personal research they do. These “delving” projects can include anything from medical and scientific research to the creation of arts to the study of other cultures to mapping different territories. Select something from the list below that you think most fits you. If multiple apply, choose only one.

Enter your delving name into the field below:
4. Put it all together: First put your truncated name, then your delving name, then your lilt at the end in parentheses. (For the most "true" tixan effect, you would want to put accent marks over the vowels in the syllables of your name that are up-tilted.) This is your full tixan name! Congratulations - you've built your tixan name!
